Here’s all the things you need to know before your tan:

What to expect at a mobile appointment

I’ll arrive at your home or office and set up my mobile tanning tent for application. We’ll set up in an area of choice that has the most natural lighting or lighting in general. All spraying will be done in the tent (and all spraying stays in the tent for no mess).

You’ll dress down to whatever your level of comfort is. I’m comfortable with the level of comfort you’re in. With that being said, nude (women only), swimsuit, and undergarments are acceptable. Complementary nose plugs, eye wink-ease, disposable bras and thongs are provided by me if you wish to use them.

Once you’re ready, I will have you apply an organic barrier cream on your hands, tops of hands, tops of feet, knees, elbows, ankles, and any other areas with particularly dry skin. This will prevent these areas from getting unwanted accumulation of solution. Then, it’s time to spray! I’ll instruct you on which direction to move. I’ll powder you dry, wipe down your fingers, hands, toes, and feet to ensure there is no unwanted solution in those areas.

You’re now dry and ready to put on dark and loose clothing. I encourage you to not put on a bra for the first hour or more after your spray tan to avoid lines. Please make sure to read up on my post-care information below to ensure optimal tan life and fading. . Remainder of payment will be due in the form of cash or card.

The Confident Co.’s door is right in front of you at the top of the stairs! If the door is closed there is another client in the room. Please wait on the stairs or in the hall, thank you!

WELCOME IN! Enjoy a water while we chat about the tan of your dreams <3

Once your appointment starts, I will lock the door for your privacy and protection. You’ll dress down to whatever your level of comfort is. I’m comfortable with your level of comfort. With that being said, nude (women only), swimsuit, and undergarments are acceptable. I will provide complementary nose plugs, eye wink-ease, disposable bras, and thongs if you wish to use them.

I’ll powder you dry, wipe down your fingernails, hands, toes, and feet to ensure there is no unwanted solution in those areas.

You’re now dry and ready to put on dark and loose clothing & flip flops. I encourage you to not put on a bra for the first hour or more after your spray tan to avoid lines.

If there is a chance of rain, please bring an umbrella ( I will also have one), loose pants, long sleeves, and closed-toed shoes so the rain can not get to your skin or spray tan.

Put a towel or blanket down on the seats to protect them from transfer and prevent your legs from sticking to the leather seats. I will have disposable clothing at a reasonable price in case you forget to bring your own. Check out all my aftercare around the studio. The remaining payment is due in cash or card.

KIDS ARE WELCOME, you may see my daughter or baby in there as well so let me know if you’re uncomfortable with that.

Preparing for your tan

Moisturize your skin very well the few days before your tan. Exfoliating & shave 48 hours prior to your appointment. Moisturize after exfoliating & after your next shower before the appointment (night before) don’t put any lotions or product on the skin. Please exfoliate with a mitt or brush, not just your loofah or a gentle exfoliating scrub that doesn’t contain coconut oils.

WAXING: Brazillian or facial waxing should be 24-48 hrs before. Body waxing (arms/legs) should be done 3+ days before your appointment to allow time for your skin to heal.

Manicures, pedicures, facials, and any other similar service should be done at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. BRIDES: do not get your first ever facial before your wedding day, it may cause unwanted breakouts. Mani’s & pedi’s can be the same day as tan (before) but be sure to wipe off any lotions or oils. You can only get a color change if you have a pedicure appointment after your spray tan. Wash your hair the day before your tan rather than the morning of to avoid any conditioner residue on the body. If possible, use sulfate-free shampoo. Do not use any Dove products or products with coconut oils. I use Method, Native or Hempz body wash (avail at appt) & it works great.

SUMMER TIPS: run all your errands before your appointment so you don’t have to risk sweating while out (during the developing stage) Book a morning or evening in- studio appt so its cooler when you leave or opt for a mobile appointment so you don’t have to leave.

The day of your tan

Before you or I get there, please make sure your skin is completely clean of any products (lotion, deodorant, make up). Any products on your skin will affect the quality of your tan. I recommend rinsing off at least 30-60 minutes before if you have anything on your skin- use warm water not hot!

The preferred method is to shower the night before and not put lotions on for better absorption of the solution. Have dark, loose-fitting clothing to put on after your tan as tight clothing can affect the quality of your tan. No working out or sweating after you get your tan, and no products on your skin until after you shower. It is best to wait 8-12 hours before coming into contact with water or any type of moisture. However, a warm water RINSE ONLY is acceptable after waiting 8-10 hours or 1-6 hours depending on your solution (which I will advise on). Run your hands over your body to ensure you get all the bronzer off and rinse until the water runs clear. Do not use soap during this rinse except to clean armpits and private parts if needed. PAT DRY ONLY.

After 24 hours you can shower with soap and Apply moisturizer, but do not use any highly scented or products with fragrance which will cause your skin to dry out and the tan to become blotchy. Use an approved sunless body wash during your next shower and moisturize with an approved moisturizer for best results. I use Hempz lotion which can be purchased at your appointment or I can ship it to you. Head over to my shop!

Maintaining your tan

Shower with approved products only. ( do not use coconut oil or oily products) When you shave for the first time, 24-48 hours after your tan, don’t press down hard and use hair conditioner instead of soap or shave cream/gel. Moisturize twice daily with sunless-approved moisturizer. Grab tanning water at your appointment to refresh the tan on your face/neck/chest/body as it starts to fade to extend the life of it.

Cancellation fee

Cancelations within 48hrs of appt: the initial deposit is non-refundable. Cancelations within 24 hours of appt: Full appointment amount will be charged to the card provided at booking If you do not reschedule your appointment within 7 days of the original date.
