Contouring 101
What is contouring? ( NEW SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE!)
Contouring is a spray tan technique that enhances your face, body & muscles by using a smaller airbrush to darken certain areas to tone or slim them down. It is an add-on to your normal spray tan service and requires more time to apply.
What is shading?
Shading is another form of contouring, but shading uses a standard spray gun to shade the sides & inner areas to make them appear thinner. This is not as in-depth and provides subtle enhancements.
Who can get contouring?
Essentially everyone can get contouring. This is where the in-depth contour and the shading come into play. If you flex any of your muscles and you can see the definition already, then you’ll be able to get more in-depth contouring. If you flex and there’s not much muscle, I’d recommend the shading to keep things looking natural and not “drawn” on.
What to expect with contouring?
If you look at the photos at the bottom of the page, the contour can have harsh lines at first, but once you take your first rinse shower, everything blends out and the areas should look slightly shaded, giving a slimming/fit look. Contouring with rapid solutions may not stay as long and will provide a subtle enhancement. Overnight solutions will provide a darker, more profound enhancement. Face contouring fades quickly, just like the normal spray tan, because we wash our face, put makeup on, and take it off so often. You could purchase a bronzing mousse with a brush to contour your own face again at home or the tanning water to extend the color on your face/body.
Can I just get face contouring?
YES! You can just add a face contour to your normal spray tan service as well as opt out of a face contour with the full body contour.
How to add contouring to my spray tan?
When you book a spray tan as a new or existing client, a drop-down menu will show up once you’ve selected your service. This is where you will see “ Full body contour,” “ Full body shading contour,” & “Face contour.” In addition, you’ll see how much extra time it’ll take and how much will be added to your total. Select whichever you desire and get excited to look more toned and fit!
