Event Tans 101

So you have an event coming and you want to be glowing? I got you covered!

One of the most common questions I always get is, “When do I schedule?” Whether you are going to a special event or prepping for your wedding, timing is key. You’ll always want to book your tan two days before an event. Sometimes you can get away with three days, but never book the day before your event.

Once you rinse off the bronzer (2-8 hours post-tan depending on the formula we need), the DHA that “stains” your skin will actually take 24 hours to fully develop. At the 24-hour mark, some people might consider the tan to be “too dark,” but once they shower again, that day two tan is perfect.

If your schedule doesn’t allow for two days before, you’ll be perfectly fine booking three days prior to your event, and your tan will still be beautiful and glowing for your event. If you schedule one day prior to your event, you run the risk of your tan coming out too dark because you haven’t had a chance to rinse a second time. I can always use a lighter solution, but the best case is for you to book exactly two days prior to your event to achieve the best results.
